Several months ago one of my clients posted on social media that she would be sponsoring a young person for prom this year. That post stayed with me for several weeks, it was just a really great thing to do for someone. I reached out to let her know I was interested in helping out. Lets face it… Senior year is one of thee most expensive moments for parents and unfortunately there are just some things that may not be in the budget for parents.
I really want to thank Mrs. Tararra for allowing me to be a part of this wonderful moment. Nykira is such a beautiful person with an amazing story. Her Date Roderick, was such the gentleman, from caring the train of her dress to helping her in the car. I’m sure they had a wonderful time at their Prom. Which was held at the Georgia Railroad Freight Depot in downtown Atlanta.
Please take sometime to View Nykira and Roderick’s Prom, You’ll love it!
Special Thanks to the wonderful people who helped with this very special moment:

I had the pleasure of working with this wonderful couple for their engagement shoot Ms. Latisa and Mr. Mallory! The wonderful couple will be exchanging their vows this April, at the Buford Community Center and I can’t wait to capture the beautiful moment!
The weather was beautiful and this location was perfect for them. They both were truly in the moment and Latisa blessed us with her wonderful contagious laugh! They danced, kissed and laughed and it was beautiful!
What I loved most is the happiness that was shown between the two of them for each other, Mallory looked at her with such pride and Love, with Latisa looking back with such confidence in knowing this was her prince charming… it was just beautiful.
I hope you all feel and see the love that took place on this shoot and the love they have for each other. I’m so excited for them…I pray they continue to Love, Dance, and laugh for many years to come!
This was a very exciting shoot, and I’m so grateful that Onaly’s mom chose me to capture this moment for her!
The girls were so excited to have their own photoshoot and I was excited to see them have a really good time in front of the camera. They all were sweet young ladies with wonderful spirits. They were singing and dancing and having a great time, being in the moment.
The location that was chosen was Cabbage town which is one of my favorite spots to visit in Atlanta. There’s so much to do and the artwork is Amazing!! Happy Birthday Onaly!!!
Hope you all Enjoy!
I’m so excited to share the wonderful Scott family holiday portraits! They were such a joy to shoot, plus they were excited. Thanking Mom for wanting to capture the moment while she was in town, she new she would have her Children and grandchildren in the same place during the holidays and wanted to make sure the moment was captured. That’s how you do it!!!
The smiles and happiness between Mom and her children are priceless, I really had a wonderful time seeing their smiles and how happy they were to be in each others presence. This is Family, This is Love and this is a family that is blessed!
Enjoy, and happy holidays from the Scott Family!
With the new addition to the Marshall family Mom was ready for some updated portraits and what a wonderful shoot it was. If Mom and dad look a little familiar it might be because they were with me back in March doing their maternity shoot waiting the arrival of Devyn! This was a beautiful shoot and a great time to capture their family portraits!
Thank you so much Marshall family wishing you all a very Happy Holidays!
Those of you who follow me on Instagram may have seen a sneak peek of this extremely handsome little fella! This is Graham, and it was a pure joy to work with…from his smile, his curiosity and his dance moves we had a really good time on this shoot. As I sat editing his portraits I began to smile, because his smile made me smile. Thank you Graham for such a wonderful shoot and for being such a wonderful happy little boy.
Oh the joys of expecting your first child plus…not finding out what your having until the arrival! There are some who choose to know what their having ahead of time and some who just want to have that moment of surprise. Vaughn and Kim are among the parents who wants that surprise!
It was a absolute joy talking with Vaughn and Kim to discuss what route they were interested in taking for their maternity shoot. Even a more joy when we met for the shoot, they are both just so easy going and the sweetest couple, I knew this would be a wonderful shoot and they both were such naturals in front of the camera. Thank you so much Vaughn & Kim for choosing me to apart of such an amazing moment in your lives.
I hope you all enjoy this wonderful shoot as much as I did!
So I’ve been wanting to do some before and after’s for a while. Mainly because I never show them, but I really wanted to let you all see the process. So when I was asked to test out the sleeklens Photoshop actions , I thought this would be the perfect opportunity.
Now, I’ve always been hesitant of using some of the Photoshop portrait actions that are out there, mainly because when I see the examples…they are usually not of African American’s.
If I use actions, it’s because it takes a lot of time off of my post processing and I can have a better turnaround for my clients. I’m not looking to spend 45mins on one image because I have to make adjustments to a Photoshop action.
But with all that being said, I picked five portraits and used the sleeklens Photoshop actions. With these actions, it was pretty easy to use. I like the Portrait Retouch and the Dodge and Burn(from a candy store)…A lot, These two actions made enhancing the eye color process very easy and fast and also softening the skin worked great also. I also liked using the Color Corrections, you can reduce some of the over barring colors that are in the images which the greens and reds work perfect!
Over all, I would recommend using Sleeklens, it does take some time figuring out what works best for your workflow and your style, but that’s with any post processing method you choose.
With this portrait I chose to use the portrait fast retouch for the eyes, I also used the base from golden hours.
The next four were a combination of Portrait smooth skin, Color correction and Base.
Travis and Laquisha are getting married, and what a joy it was to get to know them and shoot their engagement portraits.
We all know the saying ” if it’s meant to be, It will be”…right? Though I’m not sure they were thinking this way back in 2009 when their friendship slowly drifted away. After several years of little to no communication between the two, they finally reconnected via #Instagram with…she “liked” his pictures, he “liked” her pictures!
They both knew this was a relationship waiting to happen, but waiting to see who would make the first move. Travis asked her out to a work event and Laquisha said YES! This was their “It will be” moment and they’re enjoying every moment of this new chapter in their lives…Together.
This is their road to Mr. & Mrs. Beasley!
